Mark Sequeira Co-founder Matrix Vinyl — Est. January 2015 Mark is an Australian Music & Entertainment industry professional with over 25 years experience across a broad range of areas and is also a qualified Audio Engineer (Rich Studios). He has had extensive experience in the production of vinyl records locally and offshore. Mark was Head of Production & Operations at the iconic Festival Records for many years and oversaw their vinyl pressing operations including supervision of their in-house cutting suite, studios and galvanic processes. Festival Records was Australia’s last major pressing plant (24 presses, in-house galvanics etc.) and in it’s heyday pressed 7” and 12” vinyl for every major label including MCA/Universal, Polygram, BMG, Sony Music, EMI, Warner Music and a swag of great Australian indie companies like Mushroom Records, Regular Records, Alberts, ABC Music, Roadshow, Liberation, Redeye, Citadel, Waterfront, Shock, Au Go Go, Greasy Pop, Phantom, Hot Records, Roo` Art, Half A Cow, and many more.

Mark has sourced vinyl and inspected and audited numerous Vinyl Pressing Plants in Australia,  Europe, Asia and the U.S., along with Cassette and CD and Printing facilities. He continues to work and consult with the best mastering and cutting engineers in Australia. These audio experts have extensive and direct hands-on vinyl cutting experience and include Don Bartley (formerly Studio 301 Cutting & Mastering , now Benchmark Mastering), Rick O’Neill  (now Turtle Rock Mastering) and the Grammy Award winning William Bowden.

Mark was also the General Manager of the publicly listed company Summit Technology Australia (now Discworld) for 7 years and during his tenure there Mark helped Summit become the biggest independent CD/DVD/BD plant in Australia growing from 14 million to over 40 million discs per annum). He also initiated and supervised regular audits of many of Summits’ international certifications and procedures including ISO9002 Quality Control, Microsoft Authorisation and Security compliance certification and the entertainment industry standard Anti Piracy Program known as the CDSA/IRMA.

Mark’s business relationship with leading German vinyl plant Pallas started in 2013 and since that time he has pressed a variety of 7”, 10” and 12” records for a variety of Australian clients.

Mark is now the exclusive Australian & NZ agent for Pallas effective 1st January 2015.  Mark has inspected Pallas’ German Pressing plant and will continue to do this on a regular basis to ensure they and Matrix Vinyl continue to manufacture to the highest standard producing the world’s best Audiophile quality vinyl pressings.

Audiophile Vinyl

All records are pressed with an audiophile quality, custom formulation vinyl developed and refined over four generations which is the envy of the industry. This vinyl formulation produces the lowest surface noise and highest quality pressings in the industry.

Ecograde Vinyl

This vinyl is the most eco-friendly in the industry, complying with strict 2015 European environmental standards and does not contain Lead, Cadmium, Toluene and many other toxins that are in our competitor's PVC formulas.

Presses

Our vinyl is pressed on fully automated Swedish Alpha Toolex presses ensuring the most consistent record pressing quality in the industry. All of our presses also have inline dust sleeving that avoids the dreaded hot spindle stacking found at lesser facilities.

World Class Galvanics and Electro Plating

Established over 60 years ago our and run by skilled tradesmen our inhouse Galvanics and Electroplating have been continuously upgraded with the latest technology. Constant modifications have kept up with new techniques and equipment is regularlyv and assiduously updated. Often overlooked, Galvanics are as important as the vinyl formulation in producing the best records possible.
